Céline Mollon and her team welcome you to this "grocery store - restaurant - catering service" located in the heart of the village of La Balme-les-Grottes, a stone's throw from the Grottes de la Balme.
The products are selected from 22 committed local producers.
Pushing open the door of the Balmolan Market means meeting Céline, a passionate young woman who is keen to prepare delicious local dishes for you.
The menu, dictated by the seasons and daily supplies, gives pride of place to local specialties, including the famous Cocotte iséroise: pork cooked at low temperature, with organic potatoes, cep sauce, Grenoble walnuts, all gratinéed over a wood fire!
You will also find something to satisfy vegetarians and vegans.
The restaurant is located in the heart of the grocery store, between the shelves of wines, local spices, jams, craft beers, spreads, cheeses…. In season, it is also possible to enjoy the outdoor terrace overlooking the cliffs of Isle-Crémieu.
The bread that accompanies the menus and is also available for sale is baked every Sunday in a wood fire. An oven is installed in front of the grocery store.
It is also possible to stop at the Balmolan market for a sweet break since the grocery store is also a tea room. You can taste one of the many homemade pastries and accompany it with a tea, a coffee or why not a beer.
For cyclists, hikers or visitors passing through the Balcons du Dauphiné, quick sandwiches and gourmet platters are also offered and enhanced with seasonal products.
Located in the immediate vicinity of ViaRhôna, the Balmolan Market is certified as a Bike Welcome centre.
Numerous services are available on site to facilitate your cycling tour.
The restaurant also offers a catering service for individuals as well as for local communities and businesses.
The restaurant has a wifi point with computer and printer as well as a UPS relay point.
Concerned about biodiversity since childhood, and passionate about cooking, Céline's choices focus on local and committed actions, working to ensure the survival of agriculture and the regional economy. Examples include catering services and group meal deliveries.
A cook in gourmet catering, and an epicurean by nature, my primary wish in opening my own restaurant/producer store is to promote gastronomy, agriculture and local crafts, with a team of committed professionals passing on their know-how, we will be delighted to help you discover our greatest artisanal specialties!
Ideally located just steps from the ViaRhôna cycle route, Marché Balmolan is a certified "Accueil Vélo" (Cyclist Welcome) establishment offering everything you need for a convenient cycling stopover. You'll benefit from dedicated parking in front of the shop, charging stations for bikes and phones, and a luggage storage service for those visiting the Grottes de la Balme (lockers available on site). On-site, enjoy freshly made sandwiches, gourmet platters, and sweet treats featuring local and seasonal products, allowing you to recharge.
Every Saturday evening, wood-fired pizzas at Marché Balmolan are available for takeaway orders or reservations on site.
Artisanal pasta, homemade tomato sauce, toppings made with local products from the store, generosity and authentic taste are guaranteed!

Opening
Open all year round, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am to 8pm. Saturday from 8am to 20pm. Sunday from 23am to 16pm.
Service hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 14pm and from 19pm to 21pm. Sunday from 12pm to 14pm. Closed on Tuesday.
Dinner is available by prior reservation (last arrival at 20pm).
Grocery store open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on public holidays.
