It was on a sunny and warm Sunday that we felt like riding the electric bikes to discover this famous “Green Way” which we hear a lot about at the Balcons du Dauphiné…

Neither one nor two, cap on the head, sunglasses on the nose, sunscreen widely spread on the skin and sneakers on the feet, let's go!

9:00 a.m.: departure from Crémieu

First step: the parking lot! After reaching the Baron Raverat course (the Champs Elysées of the medieval town of Crémieu), then take the rue des Capucins which passes in front of the hotel La Batisse, we arrive directly at a parking lot with a few places in the shade of the trees (phew!). The car is well parked, feet on the pedals in the starting blocks, heading for the Voie Verte just above our heads…

The first kilometers in the shade of the trees…

We start slowly but surely: without electric aid and under the freshness of the vegetation... After having rolled over several small bridges, crossing paths with walkers and other sportsmen on foot ("Good morning"), we pass at the foot of the Fuza gorges before entering the woods ("Good morning"). A most pleasant atmosphere at the edge of a stream, listening to the sounds of water and birds… We then discover pretty and narrow passages (two people won't pass!) and there… Wow! We enter a magnificent natural plant arch, whose play of light with the sun's rays and the light breeze amazes us... Photo break obliges ("Good morning"), but “Zoo!” : we still have a long way to go, we must continue…

Crémieu, it's already over… Let's go to Trept!

A few meters further on, after crossing carefully and following the D517 behind a hedge of vegetation that literally makes us forget the road, we rush back into the woods. Here, the Voie Verte becomes wider. Friends are walking ("Good morning"), children learn to ride a bike ("Good morning"), husbands distance themselves from their wives (oops, do we have to say it?)…

Arrived in front of the famous restaurant “Le Bois Joli” (the frogs at Solange!), we cross the roundabout of the station and continue our road in the fresh air until the village of Trept… Always pleasant setting and surprise panorama on the Balconies of the Dauphiné!

10:15 a.m.: the break is essential

After having crossed the bottom of the village of Trept, having admired the castle of Serrières from afar, having passed in front of the 3 Lacs du Soleil campsite and guided by our stomachs, we decide to stop at the pit: arrived at Sablonnières, we leave a few meters of the Greenway to buy salty and sweet delicacies at the bakery of the Old Station ("Good morning"). Good or bad idea, we can't wait to get to the end of the route to be able to eat them!

10:30 a.m.: home straight!

We are now tackling the last kilometers of the Voie Verte: the shade is a little rarer, the route straighter… Electric mode activated to relieve the legs a little. And suddenly, we didn't see it coming, it's already the end! We arrived at the junction of the Voie Verte with the ViaRhôna, which takes you to Morestel (right) or Blue Valley (straight).

For us, it will be all right! We decided to extend the walk a few meters to the Fongeau pond for the long-awaited picnic break. Fishermen ("Good morning"), families ("Good morning") and cyclists ("Good morning") had the same idea… But luckily there is room for everyone!

11:30 a.m.: what if we go home?

That's not all, but the car is waiting for us at Crémieu… Let's go for the same, in the other direction!
Estimated arrival: 13:30 p.m. with Turbo mode activated.

Review of the morning: 100% satisfied!

A very nice experience!
You will have understood it: you will say "Hello" Many times during the day (at the end, you won't even realize it), you will enjoy the coolness of the woods, you will discover monuments on your way, you will even be able to help those who have had the misfortune to die on the way (it was our BA of the day!)… A moment to share as a couple, with friends or family: easy level guaranteed! Because yes, even without an electric bike, it is possible: it will just take a little more time or reduce the kilometers thanks to the car parks that you will find along the Greenway (in Trept and Sablonnières).
