On the territory of the Balcons du Dauphiné, there are no less than forty addresses labeled “Accueil vélo” for cycle tourists, traveling or staying. For several years, the Tourist Office has been mobilizing to animate this network of professionals involved in the reception and services for customers on bicycles.
A night on a boat!
Margherita and Stéphane Aitali have been living at the Vallée Bleue in Montalieu-Vercieu for 4 years. They have developed several activities within their structure, Eden Marine.
Eden Marine has just been labeled “Accueil vélo” by the Balcons du Dauphiné Tourist Office.
Unusual accommodation, allowing you to combine a trip on the Rhône and on the ViaRhôna
Four boats are equipped to be rented for one or more nights, including one accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Relax! A jacuzzi under a bubble, on the pontoon, awaits you, with a view of the Rhône for perfect relaxation!
Get the bikes on board! You can stop off along the ViaRhôna and enjoy the tranquility of this cycle route by docking at the various pontoons along the Rhône. If you don't have a bike, you can rent one at Espace Bike located a stone's throw from Eden Marine in the Vallée Bleue leisure centre.
A secure bicycle garage equipped for small repairs is at your disposal on the port. And to enjoy the Vallée Bleue in complete safety, you can rent one of the Oxoon, small saucer-shaped electric boats, accessible to all.
Partnerships with local producers
At Eden Marine, Margherita and Stéphane not only have the concern for a customer welcome with small onions, but also an environmental sensitivity. The bikes are cleaned with water from the Rhône to save drinking water. The meal baskets offered are made from local products, in conjunction with the merchants of Montalieu-Vercieu and the surrounding area. You can also rent a car on site, to explore the surroundings and to discover the wines of Bugey on the other side of the Rhône.

The Home Bike brand
This national brand is a benchmark for European cycle tourists. Supported by France Vélo Tourisme, Accueil vélo is the guarantee of a quality welcome, services and equipment adapted to an ever-increasing number of cycling customers. Based on a repository, the brand now includes 6000 accommodations, restaurants, tourist sites, Tourist Offices, bike rental companies and repairers in France. After an initial diagnosis and appropriate support, Claire Trillat, bicycle welcome officer for the Balcons du Dauphiné Tourist Office, checks each criterion on site: secure bicycle garage, information on bicycle routes, kits for minor damage etc.
The file is then validated by Isère Attractif and the labeled site benefits from better visibility via Apidae, the tourist data platform: the website of the Tourist Office, France Cycling Tourism, viarhona.com, Alps Is Here, leave here, and many others.
Les Balcons du Dauphiné: more than a quarter of the cycling welcome addresses in Isère!
Thanks to the support of the community of municipalities, equipment (boxes, arches) has been installed on some twenty sites, an 18 km greenway has been built between Arandon and Crémieu (with a connection to the ViaRhôna), aid to campsites for the creation of accommodation for cyclists… Secondary cycle loops are being defined and service signage will soon be put up along the ViaRhôna and the greenway. The Tourist Office is responsible for running this network of Accueil vélo addresses using tools (maps, cycle logbook, website), information meetings and annual meetings (éductours, etc.).
