This residence from the beginning of the 3th century, located in the heart of the old town, is remarkable for the elegance of its proportions: it is accessed through an authentic porch with porte-cochère which asserts its character. A XNUMX-sided attic roof pierced with windows, covered with scale tiles like the Dauphinoise houses of the region, and four rows of sponge cakes at its base, testify to the affluence of the owners behind this construction.
Located on the heights of the city, the terrace planted with lime trees and its gardens offer a surprising panorama from this privileged environment: the Bugey and Chartreuse mountains, the Belledonne and Vercors ranges.
A city museum, the interior has retained the charm of yesteryear and houses a collection dedicated to Auguste Ravier, precursor of Impressionism, and his painter friends. It also presents the portraits of the painter François Guiguet which touch us with their sensitivity and tenderness.
Temporary exhibitions punctuate the season. Maison Ravier has signed the Joyful Museum charter and regularly offers a whole program of original and fun activities intended for families.
The museum has also obtained the Accueil vélo label and offers various services to cyclists.
