Located in a 15th century house, it retraces nearly XNUMX centuries of history in Saint-Chef: the origins of the abbey, the interpretation of the Romanesque frescoes in the church, local traditions and local children (Louis Seigner and Frédéric Dard).
The museum is accessible to everyone, thanks in particular to the wealth of its materials: models, films, reconstructions, explanatory booklets. Saint-Chef will no longer have any secrets for you…

At the heart of one of the most prestigious abbeys in Dauphiné, the permanent exhibition presents, using models, film, the history of the abbey and offers an interpretation of the superb frescoes of the chapel of the angels (one of the richest evidence of Romanesque art in France). It also takes a look at the traditions of this village of Balmes Dauphinoises (vines, adobe architecture, dialect).
Such an attraction did not leave certain local children indifferent (Marius Riollet the writer, the actor Louis Seigner, and Frédéric Dard).

The interactive terminal on Louis Seigner and Frédéric Dard in the last room of the museum allows you to deepen your knowledge of these two characters.
