Welcome to Sermérieu located south of the Balcons du Dauphiné. You will appreciate its church as well as its Madonna du Moulin à Vent decorated with picnic areas, one of which offers a very beautiful panorama of the surrounding area.
1. Sermérieu and its heritage

– The church of Sermérieu: the old Romanesque church gave way in the 1870s to a neo-Gothic building designed by the architect Alfred Berruyer, a student of the famous Viollet-le-Duc. This church is illuminated by sumptuous stained glass windows, one of which features Saint-Bruno, in homage to the Carthusian order which contributed to its financing.

– Notre-Dame du Bel Amour, the Madonna of the Windmill: for more than 70 years, this imposing statue of the Virgin and Child has sat at the top of the old Ossée mill. It valiantly resists the elements and was renovated in 2007. Every two years, a special mass is celebrated in his honor, preceded by a torchlight procession.

– The Château du Marteray (private site): dating from the 18th century, this castle is located in a magnificent wooded park. It was built on the remains of an old medieval fortified house. Nowadays, it serves as a reception venue for weddings.

– Vernacular heritage: fountains, ovens and wash houses are scattered throughout the hamlets of the commune.

2. Sermérieu, nature side

– The orientation table of the Madone du Moulin à Vent allows you to enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the surrounding countryside as well as the Alpine and pre-Alpine mountains, from the Bauges to the Chartreuse, via Belledonne and the Vercors.

– Picnic areas: at Madone du Moulin à vent, Les Ferrandières and Le Marteray, you will find spaces designed to enjoy your meal while enjoying nature.

3. In April, go to Sermérieu!

– The spring fair: Sermérieu comes alive with its annual fair. On the program: exhibitors, family entertainment and an unmissable traditional pot-au-feu served at midday in the dining room.
