This EHPAD was originally a Visitandine convent created in 1627 by Ste Jeanne de Chantal, grandmother of Madame de Sévigné. It houses an 18th century apothecary whose woodwork is listed as MH and which contains many medicine jars.
Legend has it that a lime tree in the courtyard would have grown on the spot where Saint Jeanne de Chantal pricked her finger while doing needlework and lost a few drops of blood. This religious congregation with a charitable vocation combined contemplation and service to the poor and the sick. These nuns left the convent during the Revolution.
The old pharmacy can only be visited during Heritage Days.
