The Maison du Colombier is an elegant 16th-century urban residence. It owes its name to its
truncated tower in the shape of a horseshoe, converted into a dovecote in the 18th century.
Its lime-plastered facade features a mullioned corner window and directly under its roof, a Genoese-style cornice made up of several rows of canal tiles protects the facade from rainwater runoff.
Opposite this building, at the corner of Rue du Four Banal and Rue Saint Jean, you will find the imposing Hôtel de la Poype Saint Jullin, built between the 15th and 17th centuries. This property belonged to an old aristocratic family.
originating from the immediate vicinity of Crémieu, will be dedicated by the will of Louis de la Poype Saint Jullin, to
the asylum for the needy from the 17th century until 1864.
Opposite this house, an unusual structure topped with a tower is, in fact, the town's former parish church. This Church of Saint John, begun in 1504, was not consecrated until 1680.
The Maison du Colombier is an exhibition space managed by the municipality. It is only open during exhibition times.
