Balade nature en famille autour de l'étang de Lemps
Take a family walk on the Lemps Pond loop in Optevoz. This educational trail, marked with 9 information panels, invites you to discover one of the most beautiful Sensitive Natural Areas in Isère and the riches of this preserved wetland.
Throughout the trail, young and old alike can explore the diversity of this natural environment: reedbeds, dry meadows, hedgerows, ponds, and panoramic views of the Isle-Crémieu salt marshes. The path is largely shaded, ideal for hot days.
During your visit to the observatory, keep your eyes peeled! With a little patience and discretion, you may see many birds, dragonflies, butterflies and, if the sun is shining, the famous European pond turtle, an emblematic turtle of the Balcons du Dauphiné.
The route also helps to understand the history of the site, water management, the evolution of agricultural landscapes, the importance of hedges, flower meadows and ponds for the preservation of the 283 animal and plant species that have been recorded there!
This trail crosses a Sensitive Natural Area: it is important to remain discreet, respectful, and quiet so as not to disturb the wildlife. No waste should be left on the trail; picking is prohibited.
Looking for a more interactive experience? The orienteering course set up on site allows you to explore the Étang de Lemps in a different way.
Available in two versions (adult and child), it's up to you to solve the riddles and questions adapted to each age group. Materials are available in the site's parking lot and upon request at the Tourist Information Offices in Crémieu, Morestel, Saint-Chef, Les Avenières, and Veyrins-Thuellin.
