The Dizimieu pond:
This is an ancient watering hole which was dry for a very long time! In the 1990s, elected officials decided to redevelop it and fill it again. Nestled in lush greenery, it is an ideal stopover for a picnic break.

The landscapes of Isle-Crémieu:
The Isle-Crémieu plateau is crossed by several small valleys of glacial origin. This particularity offers varied landscapes: culture, forests, villages, cliffs.
The wooded heights which dominate this area were formerly used for grazing. The animals thus maintained the environment.
In terms of flora, Isle-Crémieu is home to magnificent populations of fragrant Orchis (a nationally protected orchid) which you can observe during your journey on the dry lawns of Sigalet (mainly in June).
The Pasque flower is present on a good part of the route. You can observe it mainly in April. Please note that picking these two flowers is prohibited!

1 – From Place du 8 Mai 1945, follow Rue des Capucins. At the “La Chaîte” post (215 m), turn left until you reach the D 517. Turn right for 100m before crossing it to take the Montée de la Tyne.

2 – At the first crossroads, follow the Montée des Gorges on the right. After the last property, take the path to the right along the fence wall until you reach a road. Turn right until you reach the hamlet of Sigalet which you cross.

3 – 100m after the hamlet, take the path on the left which gradually climbs through the undergrowth until emerging in a meadow.

4 – Leave the path that continues straight ahead and cross the meadow to the left to take the path that goes into the forest. Continue until you reach a wide track that goes down to the right to the village of Peyrieu. At the fountain, take the Fossas path on the right. The road turns into a wide track. At the woods, leave the track that continues to the right and follow the path on the left that goes up in a wide loop along the edge of the forest to Mont de Rive. Continue downhill to the “Fossas” signpost (335 m).

5 – Continue the track towards Dizimieu, then follow the village street to the “Sous le Bourg” post (315 m). Turn left towards Dizimieu, then take the path on the right which runs along the pond and joins the D140 at the wash house. Turn left on the road then turn right, the street going up to the church and the town hall.

6 – Continue the street which goes down towards the D140 which you take for a few meters before taking the Chemin du Vert Poulet, to the right of the cemetery. At the “Le Jannay” post (330 m), continue straight ahead on the road which, after 150 m, turns into a track.

7 – Leave the track and take the path on the right which descends into the forest. Turn left at the next two track junctions. The path descends steadily to the "Cuinat et Coquier" signpost (295 m).

8 – Turn left towards “Saint-Hippolyte” (295 m). Enter the medieval enclosure.
Follow the path on the left that leads to the Clock Tower. Go down the ramp with steps towards the village of Crémieu. Take the road on the left and join the Rue de la Porcherie, which runs alongside the large market hall. Continue to the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church. Turn left then immediately right onto the Place de la Nation. Pass in front of the Tourist Office then turn left after passing under a porch and exit the enclosure via the Porte de la Loi. Join the car park.
