Located near the house, the museum is divided into three sections: history, justice, and memory. Its numerous digital resources allow visitors to delve deeper into the history of the Izieu Colony and the historical context of the Second World War.
The House :
The house brings together letters, drawings and photos, witnesses of daily life at the Colony from the spring of 1943 to the roundup of April 6, 1944. Guided by a mediator, visitors discover the historical context of the opening of the Colony of Izieu by visiting the different rooms of the house: the classroom, the refectory, the dormitories...
The museum :
Located near the house, the museum is fully integrated into the former barn. The three spaces of the permanent exhibition and its numerous digital displays allow visitors to delve deeper into and discover the historical context of the Second World War, the networks for rescuing Jewish children, international criminal justice, and the construction of memory today.
The building houses the bookstore, the documentation and research center, teaching rooms, and a gallery of original works from previously unseen collections. An exhibition is scheduled every year from April to October.
