Adornment and body care throughout the ages is the subject of the museum's new temporary exhibition. Ornaments, their manufacturing techniques, and how they were worn will be central to the exhibition's themes.
Since the 19th century, archaeological excavations have taken place on both sides of the Rhône loop, between the departments of Ain and Isère.
Many of the discoveries are linked to burial sites, thus yielding furniture reflecting the life of the deceased.
These objects, closely linked to appearance, give rise to the temporary exhibition: "Adorned Bodies, Revealed Souls..."
The museum's collections are complemented by objects borrowed from the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, Lugdunum – Gallo-Roman Museum and Theatres and the Briord Archaeological Museum.
