Let yourself be seduced by this particularly romantic place that is the medieval town of Quirieu.
In 1307, John II reigned over the Dauphiné, and his attention turned to the castle and fortified town of Quirieu, granting its inhabitants a charter of privileges and liberties on July 06th. But why did the stronghold of Quirieu receive such special attention from the Dauphin, this almost independent prince who ruled over a state born from the recent union of the possessions of the Counts of Albon and Vienne with those of the Lords of La Tour: the Dauphiné?
Classified as part of the Isère Heritage since 2016, this former stronghold in Dauphiné is one of the 100 places to discover in Isère.
Classified as a Sensitive Natural Area in 2017, Quirieu is a privileged site where Nature and Culture coexist.
