The history of the village of Saint-Chef is directly linked to that of its Benedictine abbey, classified as a Historic Monument since 1840 for its Romanesque church, among the oldest in Dauphiné, and its Chapel of the Angels, entirely covered with XNUMXth century frescoes.
Discover one of the oldest decorated chapels in the entire Rhône-Alpes region, in a preserved historic center and a church rich in symbolism.

Visitor alert

The spiral staircase to reach the high chapel known as the chapel of the angels is narrow. So be well-shod. Backpacks are prohibited.
