Emblematic site of the Department of Isère, the Val d'Amby constitutes a limestone fault in the heart of the plateau of Crémieu.
This mosaic of natural habitats is home to many rare and protected animal and plant species such as the fragrant Orchis.
Aware of the interest of this site, the municipality of Optevoz requested in 2010 the classification in Sensitive Natural Area.

The Amby river flowing through the middle of the valley, the dry lawns on the hillsides and the ruins of the old Gobilles mill have created a remarkable landscape, long immortalized by painters from the Lyon school.

Thanks to the support of the Departmental Council of Isère, a management plan has been drawn up with all the local players and allows the implementation of actions for the sustainable maintenance of this exceptional site.

An educational booklet will accompany you throughout the discovery of the exceptional site of Val d'Amby, good visit.
