Espace Naturel Sensible de l’étang et des pelouses sèches de Marsa

A magnificent pond (regulated fishing), a path in the dry lawns, woods to get in the shade.
Highlights: Pond – Nut press – Orchids
Interests: Many information panels / Educational pond
The pond and the dry lawns of Marsa offer a summary of the characteristic environments of Isle Crémieu: dry hillsides, marshy areas and meadows. Did you know that this mosaic of environments is home to more than 450 animal and plant species?
The vegetation belts of the pond constitute an ideal refuge for many birds such as the Little Grebe and the Lesser Warbler, while the hillsides, hunting grounds for the Red-backed Shrike, are colored with many orchids in the spring.
The site is also home to a large population of European Cistudes, threatened turtles in France, which feed and winter in the pond and lay eggs in the dry grasslands.
