Cask House : fabrique de bières Rhône Brew
Stephen invites you to explore a range of 5 beers whose recipes are developed, produced and tested in small quantities in Saint-Chef.
The brewing is carried out by a colleague in Ain while waiting to be able to produce them on site.
You can taste these 5 beers at the Cask House, a pub located in the district of the old abbey in Saint-Chef, less than an hour from Lyon at Balcons du Dauphiné.
The 5 permanent beers to taste:
Lady Blanche
“Lady Blanche” embodies the elegance of a Weissbier (white beer), a traditional wheat beer from Bavaria in Germany.
This beer has a clear, cloudy color that intrigues at first glance. It gives off aromas of fresh wheat and light notes of banana and clove.
With a delicate bitterness, it is the ideal companion for those looking for a light and balanced beer.
Alcohol: 4,9% IBU: 14
This beer won the silver medal at the Lyon 2024 international competition.
The Dauphin
This is a Cream Ale, a mild, blond beer.
On the palate, it offers a smooth and refreshing taste, with slightly sweet flavors coming from the corn cereals, and subtle nuances provided by three different types of hops.
Its low IBU guarantees a delicate bitterness which gives way to a clean and thirst-quenching finish.
It can be enjoyed for all occasions, whether to accompany a light meal or to be enjoyed simply.
Alcohol: 5,5% IBU 17
Foxy Red
This amber beer embodies the boldness and flavor of Red Ales.
It is adorned with an amber dress, inviting discovery. It offers a rich and malty taste, with notes of caramel and biscuit.
Foxy Red is a balanced beer that combines the sweetness of malt with moderate bitterness.
Alcohol: 5,2% IBU: 25
The Executioner
This beer embodies the darkness and robustness of a Stout (dark beer), rich in character and flavors.
She reveals a deep black dress. “Le Bourreau” seduces with its notes of coffee, bitter chocolate and a subtle touch of caramel.
The right balance between roasted malt and hops will delight lovers of intense flavors, while remaining accessible with its moderate alcohol level.
It is a demonstration that power is not always synonymous with heaviness.
A beer to taste for its depth of taste and aromatic complexity.
Alcohol: 4,3% IBU: 40
Cardinal
“Le Cardinal” is our interpretation of the IPA style. It combines bitterness and subtlety of aromas.
On the nose, “Le Cardinal” releases aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and pine resin, creating a captivating aromatic bouquet.
On the palate, it offers an explosion of flavors balanced by a moderately high bitterness.
The malt brings a subtle sweetness which perfectly counteracts the liveliness of the hops.
A beer to savor for its liveliness, balance and bouquet of aromas.
Alcohol: 4,7% IBU: 44

From the very beginning, we've been involved locally. Sponsors of two local associations, we actively support community life. By establishing our establishment here, we've chosen to participate in the revitalization of the village's historic center. We prioritize short supply chains, collaborate with local producers, and are committed to a sustainable and authentic presence.
A Franco-Irish duo united by a passion for beer: a doctor in microbiology and an Irishman steeped in pub culture. Together, we opened an Irish pub, the Cask House, located in a former 11th-century abbey; and a beer factory, Rhône Brew, where French heritage meets Irish tradition in a warm and authentic atmosphere.
