J'aime le miel
Olivier Courtois produces a variety of honeys. The small size of his apiary allows him to pay particular attention to the quality of his honey and the well-being of his bees.
In order to harvest a variety of honeys (acacia, chestnut, fir, etc.), the hives are moved throughout the year to follow flowering.
For the beekeeper, the choice of a good location is increasingly strategic. We must both ensure the quality of floral resources and the danger of the place with regard to external pollution (pesticides, polluting factories, etc.).
Choosing a good location is therefore not an easy task and the expansion of intensive agriculture is not there to make things easier for us!
Their philosophy is therefore as follows:
– Avoid any proximity to large agricultural plots.
– Favor woods, forests, meadows and mountain areas.
– Ensure that bees have access to unpolluted water.
