Château de Serrières

Built in the XNUMXth century, the history of the Château de Serrières is intertwined with that of a powerful Dauphinois family: the de La Poype. The castle offers an imposing silhouette with its battlements, its pepperbox turret and its admirable keep.
In the center of a 40 hectare park, on an estate which has 90, rises this feudal fortress, the best preserved in the region.
From its promontory, you can admire the vast and relaxing panoramas of the department of Isère and the Pré-Alpes.
The last owner, Jean-François de La POYPE, Count of Serrières, General of the Empire (1758-1851) had to alienate his ancestral castle in 1845.
Serrières was acquired by Mr. LOUIS. His descendants, Mesdemoiselles de la ROCHETTE sold it to the RENAUD family in 1965.
After major conservation work, the RENAUD brothers handed over the property to a cultural and heritage foundation recognized as being of public utility by Decree of March 8, 1995, which is continuing the restoration and developments necessary to make it a welcoming place. , seminars and a cultural center with regional events as well as theater, popular art, presentation of old tools...
This place has an additional branch in Crémieu where a mass of buildings, along the ramparts, will house a cultural ensemble, reserved for “SINGULARS OF ART”, unique in the Lyon region. In addition, the advantages offered to companies by the Patronage regime allow them to consider any participation in the development of the foundation's sites, or any form of cultural operation.
