Château de Thuellin

This old fortified house, from the middle of the XNUMXth century, has been constantly enlarged over time.
The castle was made famous for having belonged to Mme Beyle, sister of Stendhal between 1807 and 1816. The author stayed there regularly.
Private property
Its location overlooking the RN75 was used by the German army which installed 2 guns there during the war, in 1940. One was directed towards Morestel, the other towards Veyrins.
This strategic position was then used by the maquis.
History also tells that in 1516, François I stopped there on his way to the Grottes de la Balme.
