Eglise paroissiale d'Annoisin-Chatelans

The parish church of Annoisin is mentioned in the possessions of the abbey of Saint-Chef in 1172. It also appears in a 14th century pouille from Vienne. The medieval building has been restored several times over the centuries.
In 1790 repairs were undertaken, in 1826 the church which threatened to collapse to the north and west was shored up. The following year Barrue, a departmental voyer agent, offered an estimate and a plan for repairs which would be carried out in 1830. perron and two openings on the nave. It was finally in 1837 that the municipality decided to enlarge the church on the plans and specifications provided on July 1851 by Hugues Quenin. This proposes to destroy the choir, the sacristy and the campanile, to build a side chapel to the south, hanging from the pre-existing chapel, to obtain a Latin cross plan and to raise a new bell tower. While the work was awarded to Maurice Chef entrepreneur in Crémieu on November 31, 6, the project was stopped the following year. Indeed, the bishop proposes to build a new church in another location to avoid humidity problems. Faced with the refusal of the prefect, he however abandoned this idea and the expansion work was definitively completed in 1853. Twenty-five years later, in 1859, repairs were again undertaken on an estimate from the architect E. Villard. The work was awarded to Joannès Ressier on September 1884, 20 and received the following year.
