Eglise Saint Pierre des Avenières

Dedicated to St Pierre, it was built in 1832. It was at this time that the square took on its current configuration with the construction of the retaining wall of the terrace on which the church was built.
Its organ consists of 1472 pipes.
Originally it was built with a flat ceiling resting on large square pillars. This ceiling was later replaced by brick vaults and using the ogive bay method.
It is given harmonious dimensions: 40m long (including 13,40m for the choir), 19,20m wide and 13,40m high for the vault of the central nave.
Inside, numerous paintings on canvas adorn the walls and pillars of the building.
But the surprise of this church is its organ, built in 1874 by the Merklin workshops.
