Fontaines de Morestel

The most visible of the fountains in Morestel is the fountain in Place Grenette, in the old town.
It is to Joseph Claude Pécoud, Mayor at the time, that we owe the transformation of the well in Place Grenette into a fountain, as indicated by the inscription engraved in the massif which surmounts it: "l'an of the lord 1840, thanks to Mr. Joseph Claude Pécoud, administrator of the city, with the help of a pump, the chirping nymphs spit”.

Location of the first flowing fountains installed in Morestel at the end of 1:
– Route de Lyon, facing rue de la Rivoirette
– Place St Symphorien
– Place des Halles
– At the corner of the Hôtel de France
– Against the wall of the former gendarmerie which became Servonnat house
– Rue Blanche (decorated with a shell)
– Place Chanoz
– Place Grenette
