La Tour de l'Horloge

The clock tower soars proudly above the medieval town of Crémieu. An emblematic monument of Crémieu, its history is fascinating.
Built in the 1541th century, the tower first had a defensive vocation as evidenced by its mouthful. The Saint-Hippolyte gate next door protects access to the city. Probably in the middle of the XNUMXth century, a public clock was installed in the tower. It is in XNUMX that the construction of the lantern on the tower is attested as well as the installation of a clock and a stamp.
L’accès à l’intérieur de la tour est interdit. L’esplanade de la tour est libre d’accès, une belle vue s’offre à vous, à côté d’un obusier de la première guerre mondiale.
