Lavoir de l'Abreuvoir

As in many municipalities, Saint Sorlin-de-Morestel has one washhouse per hamlet. The washerwomen met there before the arrival of running water in homes.
The washhouse is made up of two parts: the washing aisle and the basin. The first is covered by a 2-sided roof made of scale tiles. The frame is supported by a gable wall, a gutter wall and metal pillars. These walls also protect women from climatic hazards. The elevations are built in poured concrete and the basin in cement and masonry stones. Interventions on the waterproofing of the washhouse were necessary to preserve this heritage. In its green setting, there remains a place where the walker likes to stop.
