Lavoirs de Sermérieu

Sermérieu washhouses are located at the Town Hall, Ossée, Marteray, Olouise and Route de Passins.

Originally consisting of very rudimentary water reservoirs dug near streams, they were called "gabouillons" in the region.

All washhouses are built on the same plan with a roof to protect the washerwomen from bad weather and the sun and to provide lighting, there is never a wall facing the worktop.
