Lavoirs de Vézeronce-Curtin

There are 6 renovated washhouses in Vézeronce-Curtin, including two in Curtin (one in the village, one in La Plaine) and four in Vézeronce (two in the village, one in Charray and one in Braille).

Originally made up of very basic water reservoirs dug near streams, they were called "gabouillons" in the region.
All the wash houses are built on the same plan with a roof to protect the washerwomen from bad weather and the sun and to provide lighting, a wall never stands opposite the work surface.
