Lavoirs de Vignieu
Originally made up of very basic water reservoirs dug near streams, they were called "gabouillons" in the region.
6 washhouses are located in Vignieu: Munard washhouse at the crossroads of foreigners on rue Beauvenir / Larrivé washhouse on rue de la Garenne / Jubet La Combe washhouse on the road to Jubet la Combe / Ver washhouse at the bottom of Rual on rue du Ver / washhouse of Eners at the crossroads of rue centrale and rue des Eners / washhouse of 3 Terrements on the road to la Tour du Pin.
All the wash houses are built on the same plan with a roof to protect the washerwomen from bad weather and the sun and to provide lighting, a wall never stands opposite the work surface.
