Maison de Martinas dite des Trois Pendus

Built between the 13th and 16th centuries, it is one of the oldest in the city. Its facade has been listed since 1926. The central pediment of the three-part window is decorated with a fire-spitting animal whose capitals feature sculpted heads.
This very particular architecture is at the origin of several legends, the most famous being that of the Cordier. Indeed, it is said that this house belonged to a ropemaker who had two daughters and that in the latter's absence, they received their lover. Unfortunately, it was without counting on the unexpected return of their father who, stung, found nothing better to clear his honor and that of his daughters, than to hang the two boys. Unfortunately for him, one of these two young men was the son of a lord who, mad with rage and pain, in turn had the tailpiece hanged.
