Musée de la Lauze
Nestled in the heart of the village of Annoisin-Chatelans, these two rooms invite you to discover the local history linked to the work of slate and highlight the knowledge that has shaped the landscapes and dwellings of the Isle-Crémieu plateau.
Located inside the Auberge de Larina, this space offers an immersion in the history and techniques of laying lauze, this golden-hued stone emblematic of Isle-Crémieu.
A first room presents the geological aspect of this stone, the extraction work in the quarries and the tools used. The testimonies of the time when the quarries were in full activity enrich this discovery.
The second part of the museum highlights the techniques of covering slate roofs, illustrated by examples of local architecture. The Crémieu market halls, with their imposing framework capable of supporting the weight of these stones, are a fine example of this know-how.
After your visit, a walk in the village of Annoisin-Chatelans is recommended to discover the typical architecture of this sector of the Balcons du Dauphiné.
Miguel and Anne-Laure welcome you to the Auberge de Larina.
After traveling across Europe and learning from chefs from different cultures, Miguel and his team offer you fine and tasty cuisine, with accents of French soil flavored with his foreign experiences.
We are committed every day to ensuring that our activity has a minimal impact on the environment and to favoring the local know-how that surrounds us!
The museum is located inside the village restaurant where you can enjoy careful and refined local cuisine.
