Espace Naturel Sensible Etang de Gôle

à Montcarra

  • Sensitive Natural Spaces

From the 7-hectare pond created in the 18th century, to the dense cover of the Tire-Gerbes forest, passing by the banks of the Hell stream, discover protected species such as the European pond turtle or the Agrion of Mercury.
Distance: 3,3km

Yesterday, the women came to rinse their laundry in the adobe wash house, we put the hemp to macerate on the edge before stripping the stems, we fished, we hunted...
Today, Montcarradiaud schoolchildren do natural sciences there, the villagers go fishing or take walks there.

We protect this pond: with the renovation and maintenance of the dike.

We monitor heritage species: pond turtle, great crested grebe, agile frog, dragonflies, etc.
