The Sensitive Natural Area (ENS) “Les Coteaux de Saint-Roch” is located in the north of the Isère department on the Isle-Crémieu plateau.
This label was obtained by the municipality of La Balme-les-Grottes (38390) in 2009 from the Department of Isère, which supports it technically and financially in its various management and preservation actions.
A Sensitive Natural Area is a remarkable site in terms of natural heritage (fauna, flora and landscape). The objective is to preserve the biodiversity of a delimited territory, while making it accessible to the public in order to be able to raise awareness about the management and preservation of an ecosystem.
Bring good shoes and walking poles to start the descent with peace of mind.
A discovery guide is available free of charge to visitors upon request at the reception of the Grottes de La Balme.
