Le Jardin des Simples is a green space established in the heart of #Vertrieu, a typical town of Dauphiné, located on the banks of the Rhône, in the department of Isère.
The idea simply germinated on a piece of family land, it is a #garden designed, by Muriel Decevre in 2014, like a plot of the Middle Ages. It is ideally located at the gates of the Saint-Laurent church, built between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, and at the foot of the XNUMXth century fortified house, known today as the old castle.
To take care of and manage this space, an association has been created: "Les Simples de Vertrieu", and it is a whole team of volunteers, "the little hands" as Muriel calls them, who takes care of maintaining everything. throughout the year the garden, plants, flowers, trees.
It works in particular in the philosophy of permaculture: no pesticides, no chemical weedkillers, no fertilizers are used, this is how #LeJardindesSimples was able to be classified Refuge LPO (League for the Protection of Birds). Among other things, nesting boxes for birds, an insect hotel, natural shelters have been set up to accommodate and protect wildlife.
The Jardin Des Simples Vertrieu is open to everyone all year round, entry is free, the association provides an offering box, which allows it to maintain and maintain the premises. And many events are organized throughout the year.
