TOURISM OF THE DAUPHINÉ BALCONIES

From April 21, 2020 until December 15, 2021, the Balcons du Dauphiné Tourist Office has carried out, thanks to the Leader implementation, actions to promote tourism. Different aspects of intervention have thus been carried out:

  • The implementation of a media plan intended to promote the Balcons du Dauphiné destination (radio awareness campaign, newspapers, regional communication, etc.)
  • Organization of mobility reception to inform visitors about places of tourist frequentation and with high potential
  • Realization of publishing supports such as guides, magazines and other brochures and their distribution, for the touristic valorization of the territory

Digital transition of tourism promotion

In order to ensure the promotion of the Balcons du Dauphiné territory and to adapt to new traveler practices, the Tourist Office has committed in 2022 to a new action plan based on new orientations including the transition digital tourism promotion.

In order to adapt to new trends in tourist consumption, this transition is more than ever a major challenge for the future and development of the destination (for the inhabitants and actors of the territory, local urban basins, nationally, etc.) .

The Balcons du Dauphiné Tourist Office aims to deploy its digital communication in order to promote its tourist offer. Quite a challenge, which includes the redesign of the website, the creation of new content, both editorial and video.

As video and digital strategy on social networks require very precise technical know-how, these two axes have been entrusted to professionals, very aware of current trends.

Their productions will support the efforts made by the Tourist Office to capture the target family, young and active/athletic seniors on the associated means (website, social networks, more particularly Facebook and Instagram).

Production of videos in June 2023 by the Colibri agency

A general presentation video and 5 short and thematic videos defined according to the axes of the tourism development strategy, nature, heritage, cycling, leisure and terroir. These videos will be broadcast on social networks and on the communication media of the territory's tourist actors for promotional purposes.

Two photo campaigns were carried out by the Jump Start Studio agency in 2022 to feed the various communication media.

ENHANCEMENT OF THE LOCAL HERITAGE OFFER

In order to ensure the promotion of the Balcons du Dauphiné territory and to adapt to new traveler practices, the Tourist Office has committed in 2022 to a new action plan based on new orientations including the promotion of the local heritage offer.

By highlighting the cultural richness of the destination (from the architectural and natural point of view, local know-how, etc.), the Tourist Office highlights its heritage in order to promote the attractiveness of the territory.
The aim is thus to increase tourist flows and to act as a lever for development.

Actions carried out in 2022

In this context, a program of original guided tours has emerged (including storytelling and musical tours), led by a tour guide whose local knowledge is unique.

In order to communicate this thematic offer on the local and regional market, new editions have been executed :
– schedule of online visits,
– maps of heritage villages and medieval towns combining tours and tourist information (Crémieu, Morestel, Vertrieu and Saint-Chef),
– both tourist and bicycle cards allowing visitors to discover the territory and its rich heritage by bicycle, in order to promote soft modes of transport.

– targeted promotional inserts in the Dauphiné Libéré for a regional clientele, in Isère, in Ain and in the Rhône, to identify the area and position it as a reference tourist destination for the heritage offer in Isère.

- commercials were broadcast on two local radio stations whose broadcasting radius is complementary (radio Isa for northern Isère and radio Scoop for the Lyon basin) in order to publicize the program of visits and leisure activities in the territory throughout the tourist season, in particular over the summer period.

Various guided and storytelling tours have been carried out on the main heritage sites of the Balcons du Dauphiné:
– Show of storytelling in music at the castle of Morestel,
– Storytelling walks in Vertrieu and Morestel,
– Night visit to Morestel,
– Gourmet visit to Morestel, to link heritage and local products,
– Guided tour of Saint-Chef, abbey city,
– Guided tour of Crémieu, medieval city, labeled Most Beautiful Detours of France,
– Storytelling walks in Porcieu,
– Storytelling walk in Brangues,
– Storytelling walk on the Envirhôna trail at Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin.

TOURIST WELCOME

The Balcons du Dauphiné inter-municipal Tourist Office was set up in 2017. It brings together 4 Tourist Information Offices (BIT): Crémieu, Les Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin, Morestel and Saint Chef.
With a view to making this new name visible to visitors and locals alike, to enhance this area, to improve the reception of customers in the Tourist Information Offices as well as on key locomotive sites such as the Walibi Rhône- Alps, various structuring actions have been carried out.

Actions carried out in 2021

The Tourist Information Offices of Saint-Chef and Morestel have been laid out and equipped to optimize the customer experience and improve reception.
Thus actions of covering windows, installation of display supports, equipment and recovery of furniture have been carried out. The 4 BITs have been equipped with PLV-type supports.
An agreement has been signed with La Vallée Bleue, one of the main sites in the area, in order to harmonize their tourist information point with the BITs of the Tourist Office. This agreement made it possible to extend the reception period for customers on the seasonal wings and to cover the reception point.

In order for the territory's offer to be visible throughout the territory, Information Service Relay (RIS) have been installed, notably in Vallée Bleue and Walibi Rhône-Alpes.
On this amusement park, promotional signs including one on the "balcony" were created to increase the territory's visibility with the public received.
