Les Poulets des Templiers

Poulets des Templiers rhymes with organic, local and quality chickens raised in the best conditions! Discover red naked neck chickens with white legs which, through their characteristics, ensure tender and tasty flesh.
Who are they ?
Marine and Tony! “We are farmers, based on a family farm in Courtenay in North Isère. Our farm, made up of around sixty hectares, has been entirely engaged in organic farming since 2018. Passionate about nature, it was obvious for us to grow our cereals without chemicals or other synthetic products given that they will be the food of tomorrow for our poultry.
Organic, for us, is not just a label, it is also a commitment. A commitment to our planet and directly to our future generations. Taking care of our land that nourishes us, and sharing it with you is obvious to us.”

Breeding
– The habitat: Marine and Tony have chosen to ensure the greatest comfort for their poultry by providing them with French-built wooden henhouses, twice as large as required by organic regulations. A particularity of their buildings: they move and yes! By moving their buildings, they always ensure a new healthy and green life path for their poultry and also the possibility of their land which welcomes them to rest.
– Natural life paths: They sought the most natural living spaces possible for their poultry. Thus, the poultry have access to large areas rich in biodiversity, including numerous oak trees. A real playground for them where they can fully live their chicken lives. There we find, for example, worms, acorns and above all a beautiful natural shade to shelter from the high heat and predatory birds of prey.
– Their chickens: They take care of them from their first day. Firstly, they are housed in a nursery to provide them with a temperate living space at 30 degrees and to begin their growth. Then, they will return to their large courses where they will be able to fully enjoy their living space.
They chose white-legged red neckless breed chickens, which is a slow-growing breed of chicken which by its characteristics ensures tender and tasty flesh.
Their breeding is ensured over a period of 90 to 130 days.
– Healthy, organic, balanced food made by them: It is on their land in Courtenay that they mainly grow organic cereals. These are transformed into flour for feeding our poultry. It was essential for them to be able to have the greatest traceability on food and thus ensure strength and vitality to our poultry.
