Organic winegrower specializing in the cultivation of rare, forgotten and heritage grape varieties.
I learned the trade of the vine and wine at Château Gilette in Sauternes, at Domaine Tempier in Bandol and even at Ridge Vineyards in California.
My wish to return to the region to produce quality wines
dates back to the end of the 90s, I was able to realize this project by setting up on my own in 2005 in Saint-Chef, thanks to the takeover of my uncle's vines.
At the time, the area of this vineyard was not sufficient to have the
status of winegrower and obtaining planting rights, it was therefore necessary
rent other plots, often remote, badly oriented or
in poor condition, that is to say: “All the vines that no one wanted to work anymore…” The estate was therefore created piece by piece with the vines of 20 different owners.
Since 2003, the entire estate has been uprooted and replanted
exclusively in local grape varieties: altesse, Verdesse, Jacquère, Viognier,
Persian, Mondeuse, Mecle.
In 2005, a 250 m² cellar was built in alveolar earth bricks
cooked and with a dauphinois style roof.
Today, the vineyard has been restructured, the bad plots have been
eliminated and the current area of the estate is 5,5 hectares. others
Planting projects are underway such as the rediscovery of ancient grape varieties.
