During the long and dark days of winter, few are those who are not nostalgic for the sunny days and the heat. But when summer (and its sometimes scorching temperatures) comes to the fore, things get tougher!

On the one hand there is the team “mum, it's too hot to go out” and on the other the team “against all odds, I'll take advantage of this day!”. If you are rather part of team number 2, here are some ideas for “fresh” activities…

The Vallée Bleue leisure center in Montalieu-Vercieu

The Vallée Bleue is a concentration of leisure activities in one place. But when it's (very) hot, it's the aquapark that has the most success! Also find several activities to practice on the Rhône: pedal boat, canoe, paddle, windsurfing, jet ski, flyboard...

The Balme Caves

Admit you hadn't thought of that! And yet… the temperature inside the caves remains stable throughout the year, between 12 and 15°. A 100% natural and welcome air conditioning when it is 30° and more outside...

Sensitive Natural Areas (ENS)

Some ENS offer shaded or even “cool” spaces due to the very nature of the place. In the sites category where you like to take advantage of a “cool” moment, special mention to the Gôle pond, the Laurentière forest and the Lemps pond... Also think about the free activities accompanied by a natural guide!

The Rhône

Ah the Rhône... It's not necessarily the first idea that comes to mind and yet it has so much to offer: picnic spots on its banks, kayaking in the lônes or even a walk on the EnviRhôna path are all activities that have one thing in common: the king river.

Museums

And culture in all this? Even if they are not necessarily equipped with air conditioning, it is often cool there because the museums are for the most part installed in old stone or adobe buildings, which naturally keep it cool. Smart, right?
